Tequila Matchmaker is a website and free mobile app that helps users discover new tequilas by creating a personalized "flavor profile" through user ratings and a proprietary algorithm
It features a comprehensive database of tequila brands, production details, and user reviews, acting as a "Rotten Tomatoes" for tequila. Additionally, it was the founder of the independent Additive-Free Alliance (AFA) to promote transparency in tequila production
Tequila Matchmaker has rebranded as Agave Matchmaker
to expand its focus beyond tequila to all agave spirits. The name change was officially announced in late September 2025.
The evolution reflects a broader mission to serve as a resource for the entire category of agave-based spirits, including:
- Mezcal
- Raicilla
- Bacanora
- Other regional agave spirits
The website and apps for iOS and Android were updated to the new name in September 2025, and the company has been soliciting community volunteers to help with the expansion.
